Ashley Sloat is one of the best patent agents out there. She is wicked smart and able to get up to speed quickly on any technology that you could put in front of her. The Aurora group managed our large patent portfolio at Hansen Medical for 4 years. We used them instead of hiring full time internal patent counsel and I would highly recommend them for this approach. During that time, Kristen and Ashley learned most of our critical technologies, as if they were full time Hansen employees. In addition, Aurora managed our invention disclosure process, drafted provisional and utility patent applications on a regular basis for us and managed our US and foreign patent prosecution process. Aurora Consulting is one of the approved firms to provide patent related services to startups by Ann Arbor SPARK. Ashley took over our existing patent prosecution (the process of negotiating with the USPTO for successful granting of a patent) and made astute amendments to the existing application done by another firm, overcoming two separate rejections by the USPTO. Ashley has the rare combination of technical proficiency as well as being a world-class negotiator. Upon news of the granting of the utility patent, needless to say, we were ECSTATIC!!
