Albert "Al" is a USPTO-registered patent attorney with over 10 years of experience. Al has served as a patent attorney/agent at a number of law firms in a wide variety of technology areas. He has also drafted and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications for clients in the areas of software, blockchain, IoT, machine learning and artificial intelligence, cloud computing, navigation, media applications, drone applications, vehicle automation, medical devices, wearable devices, virtual and augmented reality technologies, mobile device applications, search heuristics, authentication applications, user interfaces, LED display technology, telecommunications, orthopedic device, MOSFET/FINFET design and semiconductor devices, gaming, and business methods.
Al brings a curious and engaging engineering mindset to his work in patent law. Al has a lifelong love of learning and a passion for interesting new solutions to technical problems. He enjoys working with inventors to address the disconnect between the law and the process of innovation. He also has prior experience working as a USPTO examiner and brings a collaborative energy to identifying patentable subject matter for his clients. Al holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Juris Doctorate from The Catholic University of America: Columbus School of Law. Al is also a member of the Virginia Bar Association. In his free time, Al enjoys time with the family (wife and two girls), hiking, and is always learning something new. Lately, Al has largely been focused on Brazilian jiu-jitsu and acoustic guitar. |
